THE RICH MAN & LAZARUS THE BEGGAR

Life has become unpredictable and without Jesus life ends in hopelessness. It is time to wake up and not take life casually. Value the life we have on this earth and not neglect God's mercy and grace in our life, receive His gift of salvation and be saved, says Kumar N.

The Lord Jesus spoke a parable about a rich man and a certain beggar named Lazarus. The rich man lived a lifestyle without the fear of God and spent his wealth in mirth in the company of the elites of the society and life was a regular celebration to him. But the beggar lived in utter poverty and had to camp at the gate of the rich man in the company of street dogs for a few pieces of crumbs which fell from the rich man's table. The beggar had no complaints in his poverty, but set his heart upon the things of God and the things after death. The beggar was unknown and unpopular on the earth but nonetheless, he was the favourite of heaven.

One day death visited Lazarus and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom. Death visited the rich man also uninvited and unannounced. Death proved that it was common for all. However, there was a significant difference in the death of the beggar. “He was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom”. It is the office of angels to minister to the heirs of salvation (Matthew 24:31; Mark 13:27; Hebrews 1:14). But when the rich man died, there was no heavenly visitor to carry him. This is the saddest ending of our lives, if angels do not carry us to heaven. In death and in life the two men, the rich man and the beggar stand in contrast. The rich man passes from view with the pomp and pageantry of a burial (2 Chronicles 16:13, 2 Chronicles 16:14) befitting to the rich, but Lazarus passes with the angels, a spiritual triumph suited to the one accepted of God.

But God's mercy has kept you alive giving another opportunity to repent your sins and trust in the Saviour and experience the joy of salvation. The greatest mercy of God is God's faithful warning to man of the coming judgment (Hebrews 9:27). For this very purpose Jesus came down upon the earth from heaven above calling upon you “to repent for the kingdom of God is at hand”. He offered His life as a ransom for your sins, for you are a sinner just as this writer and everyone else are. Jesus, the Good Shepherd laid down His life on the cross for your salvation through the blood of the everlasting covenant (Hebrews 13:20-21). He will come again in power and glory to judge the world and to punish those who reject Him. God has assured us in His Word, that whosoever believes in the Lord Jesus shall not perish in the unquenchable fire in Hell but shall have everlasting life.

Dear reader, remember as the clock ticks, you are certainly moving fast for meeting death. If you call upon the name of Jesus today, confess your sins to Him and receive Him as your Lord and Saviour, you will not have the occasion to regret as the rich man had to, as you pass into eternity.

THE WRITING ON THE WALL: DOES THIS APPLY TO YOU?

Bring in the astrologers, the Chaldeans and the Soothsayers”, screamed Belshazzar, the Chaldean king with a loud voice. As he was drinking wine with a thousand of his nobles, his wives and his concubines, he ordered for the golden vessels, which Nebuchadnezzar took away from the temple of God at Jerusalem, to be brought in; so that the king, his nobles, his wives and his concubines might drink wine from them. These were sacred vessels consecrated in the service of the Most High God in the Temple. While drinking the wine, they praised the gods of gold and silver, bronze and iron, and wood and stone. Thus, Belshazzar defied the Most High God and His Sovereignty.

It was in the same hour came forth fingers of a man’s hand and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaster of the wall of the king's palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote and was frightened beyond measure. None of the astrologers and soothsayers of Babylon could interpret the writing. But Daniel, who served and worshipped the same God whom Belshazzar defied, interpreted the writing to the king.

Daniel chided and reminded the king that the Most High God gave to Nebuchadnezzar, his father sovereignty and great glory. But he was lifted up with pride and stubbornness, so God overthrew him from his royal throne and driven away from the palace. He had to live with the wild beasts and was fed with grass like oxen and his body was wet with the dew of heaven until he acknowledged that the Most High God is Sovereign over all the kingdoms of the earth. But although Belshazzar knew all this, he rebelled against the God of heaven.

It was therefore the writing on the wall, which Daniel interpreted, “God has numbered thy kingdom and finished it. Thou art weighed in the balances and are found wanting. Thy kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians." The verdict was final and his fate was sealed. That night was Belshazzar slain. He was given enough warnings, but he rebelled and perished for his sins.

All who are of the works of the Law are under a curse (Galatians 3:10). The curse of the law is the handwriting against us like the handwriting upon the plaster of the wall of Belshazzar's palace. This is the handwriting, which is against you and me that threatens you and me with eternal death! The Lord Jesus came to redeem you from the curse of the Law by His death, being made a curse for you (Galatians 3:13). If you trust in the redemptive work of the Saviour, you will be freed from the curse of the Law and can experience the joy of salvation.

Moreover, the Mosaic Law makes us debtors to God because of our sins. But this debt has been fully paid by the Lord Jesus Christ by His atoning death on the cross. He came into this world to deliver you and me from the curse of the law. So, if you trust in this finished work of Christ our Saviour and turn away from your sins, you will receive eternal life because the Lord Jesus abolished in His flesh the law of commandments contained in the ordinances (Ephesians 2:15).

Dear reader, do you have the assurance that you are freed from the handwriting that is against you? If not run to Christ, our Saviour right now and escape the jaws of eternal death!

DO NOT NEGLECT SO GREAT SALVATION

God spoke to man through His laws, ceremonies, judges, prophets and kings and so on in the past. In these last days God has spoken to man by His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. The revelation of grace came through the Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:17) and was confirmed by those who heard Him and was authenticated by signs and wonders. God punished those who disobeyed His law in all the ages as they deserved. In these circumstances, how shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation?

Salvation is so Great because the Messenger is Great: The Lord Jesus is far superior to angels as He has inherited a more excellent name than them (Hebrews 1:4). He is worshipped by the angels (Hebrews 1:4-6). Jesus is God manifested in the flesh (John 1:14; 1 Timothy 3:16). He is expressly called God (Hebrews 1:8). He is King eternal (1 Timothy 1:17). Jesus is the pre- existent Son and has taken His seat on the right hand of His Majesty on high. He created all things, the heavens and the earth. Jesus made a New Covenant with His own blood shed for many for the remission of sins (Matthew 26:28). Salvation is planned by God and is of infinite value and importance.

Salvation is so Great because the Message is Great: Jesus is the greatest of all the prophets, and the heir of all things. He has a distinctive message for every man and woman. This message is centered on the cross where the Lord Jesus Christ offered Himself as a propitiation for the sin of man. God became man, took our nature to save you and I from such great sin. The message of the cross has eternal significance for you and I and for everyone else. This makes the message most precious.

Salvation is so Great because the Price paid is Great: It cost God immense price to save man from hell fire. God spared not His own Son but delivered Him up for us all that though His death we might be saved (Romans 8:32). The price paid was not silver and gold but His own blood. “You were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold...but with the precious blood of Christ...” (1 Peter 1:18-19).

Salvation is so Great because the Deliverance is Great: Salvation delivers the repentant sinner from the bondage of sin and eternal condemnation. By accepting the offer and confessing his sins, even the worst sinner can receive forgiveness of his sins. “He that believeth on the Son has everlasting life: and he that believes not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him” (John 3:36).

Salvation is so Great because the Honour it Bestows is Great: Salvation bestows on sinners, you and I infinite honours “...as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name” (John 1:12). Similarly, those who believe in Christ are conferred with a new status as “the sons of God” (John 1:12).

How shall you escape from the jaws of eternal death, if you neglect the means of deliverance now offered to you? Such neglect shall be visited with grave consequences. Is there anyway of escaping punishment for neglecting the salvation that is freely offered to you? No. There is no other way at all. Dear reader, confess your sins and receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and experience the joy of salvation.

BIRTH OF LORD JESUS - GOOD TIDINGS OF GREAT JOY

Two thousand years ago, that night in Bethlehem, a town situated in the Judean Hills, five miles south of Jerusalem, was the most beautiful night in the history of the world. The myriads of twinkling stars that adorned the heavens added splendour to that night. The wondrous divine glory shined in that night, as a prelude to the most historical event that would visit the earth that day. Never in the history of the creation of man had occurred such a glorious event, that God would come down on the earth in human flesh and dwell amongst us!

Caesar Augustus, the Emperor of Rome issued a decree for conducting a census. Because of the royal decree, Joseph and Mary, his betrothed wife had to travel to Bethlehem all the way from Nazareth although Mary was heavy with Child by miraculous conception. Thus, through the decree of Caesar Augustus, God fulfilled His divine decree that the Saviour of the world would be born in Bethlehem Ephrata, as prophesied long ago (Micah 5:2).

“And Mary brought forth her firstborn Son, Jesus, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the Inn”; as people from all over the land poured into Bethlehem for the census (Luke 2:7).

Not far away from the city of David, the shepherds were keeping watch over their flock in Galilee that night. As the shepherds kept watch over their flock, they were wonder-struck at the sight of an angel of the LORD, as the glory of God shown around them. As they stood frozen at that amazing sight in fear, the angel comforted them saying, “Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign to you: You will find the Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger” (Luke 2:10-12).

All of a sudden, they saw a company of the heavenly host appear with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men”. God’s goodwill in sending the Messiah brought the message of peace on earth. The goodwill of God towards humanity is glory to God in the highest and peace on the earth. It is the highest expression of His redeeming love and mercy for the fallen man. Nowhere could we see the love of God strikingly exhibited than at the cross. It was the fulfilment of long-promised Biblical prophecies to save humanity from the punishment of their sin.

Apostle Peter says that “Jesus was handed over to you by God’s set purpose and foreknowledge”. God delighted to save man from the jaws of eternal death and for that very purpose He sent His Son, the delight of the Father, to die on the cursed cross, to take our rightful place there. The risen Saviour said, “This is what is written: the Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in His name to all nations…” Dear reader, have you repented for your sins? Have you received the assurance of salvation? If not, come to the Saviour right now and be washed by His precious blood and experience the assurance of salvation!

IN THE END TIMES..LAWLESSNESS SHALL ABOUND..THE LOVE OF MANY SHALL WAX COLD..

Dear Reader, in this article I want to bring to your attention the ongoing lawlessness that’s prevalent in the world that signifies very clearly that we are moving rapidly close to the end of this age and the bible prophesied most HORRIFIC 7-YEAR TRIBULATION period. THE LORD JESUS CHRIST Himself has forewarned in Matthew 24: Verse 10 – And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. & Verse 12: And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. In Matthew 10: Verse 36, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST says, “A man's foes shall be of his own household.”

When we read through the daily morning headlines, we know how difficult it has become even to digest the news we read these days. We hear of wars, murders, robberies, natural calamities, economic turmoil, violent crime, etc. Each new day, we wake up to read and hear something even more disturbing than the previous day. We hardly see very few acts of love or kindness, let alone True Love. Everywhere we see, people are struggling to survive as it’s the game of the survival of the fittest.

Due to increase in pestilences, wars, economic turmoil, poverty & unemployment, violent crime is on the rise. There is a sudden explosion of lawlessness globally. People don’t seem to think sanely even for a second before an evil act. People are betraying & killing even their dear ones for selfish momentary gain. The Holy Bible in 2^nd Timothy Chapter 3: Verse 13 says about the end – “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse.” If things are so bad now, how much worse things could get from now, and how difficult it would be to cope up then. The Holy Bible says of the HORRIFIC 7-YEAR TRIBULATION period in Luke Chapter 21: Verse 26, Men's hearts would fail them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth.

Sometimes, we might be tempted to think that this progression of these evil times could reverse with time, but alas, the Holy Bible says it differently. The Holy Bible mentions in Daniel Chapter 9: Verse 26, the end thereof shall be like a flood. This means the end would be sudden & devastatingly fast. So, much so that mankind would be suddenly thrown to absolute chaos and anarchy. The nations of the world would be thrown into war, financial ruin and brutal dictatorship.

When the 7-YEAR TRIBULATION period begins in earnest, The Antichrist aka the Man of Sin will take advantage of the helplessness of the nations and its peoples, and take global control of all things & would form a ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT, ONE WORLD RELIGION AND ONE WORLD ECONOMY. Mankind would be forced to owe their allegiance to this most brutal dictator, and all those who don’t, would be beheaded/ annihilated. THE LORD JESUS CHRIST is warning of this time in entire chapters of Matthew Chapter 24 and Luke Chapter 21, in the Holy Bible (King James Version).

At that point the world will be divided into 2 groups of people, one would consist of people who owe their allegiance to the Antichrist by taking his mark in their right hand or forehead by way of a chip or tattoo. This is mentioned in the Bible in Revelation Chapter 13: - Verses 16-18, “[16] And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: [17] And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. [18] Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six” …………...It can’t get any clearer than this.

The 2^nd group of people which would be a minority would be people who reject the Antichrist, his authority and his mark. This group of people would actually be those who believe in THE LORD JESUS CHRIST against all odds only to be beheaded for their faith in THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, but these would rise back to life at the end of the 7-YEAR TRIBULATION period. The point to be noted here is mankind has the freedom to believe in THE LORD JESUS CHRIST today, as well as in the HORRIFIC 7-YEAR TRIBULATION period.

But the difference is, today anyone can believe in THE LORD JESUS CHRIST without much persecution. And those who believe in THE LORD JESUS CHRIST today, will actually be miraculously delivered from the soon coming HORRIFIC 7-YEAR TRIBULATION period. I have mentioned this in my previous blog, that all believers of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST would soon be miraculously raptured from this world i.e. THE LORD JESUS CHRIST is coming soon to whisk away or deliver the church from the soon coming HORRIFIC 7-YEAR TRIBULATION.

To read how this would happen, please read 1 Corinthians Chapter 15: “[50] Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. [51] Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, [52] In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. [53] For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. [54] So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. [55] O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? [56] The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. [57] But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our LORD JESUS CHRIST.”

But those who believe in THE LORD JESUS CHRIST during the Tribulation period would have to endure much suffering. Their own relatives would reject them. The government would reject them. They will suffer hunger and severe persecution. There would be no place to hide and death by beheading would be certain. But after death, they would still be greatly rewarded for their boldness & steadfastness in the faith, amidst such intense persecution.

The point here is it would be very difficult to believe in THE LORD JESUS CHRIST during the HORRIFIC 7-YEAR TRIBULATION period because of the intense persecution that would be prevalent at that time. It is easier to believe in THE LORD JESUS CHRIST and be saved today, with lesser persecution and also a great escape via the Rapture with the soon coming LORD JESUS CHRIST. We have never been closer to the soon coming 7-YEAR TRIBULATION like now, any time before. This world would soon and very soon in this very decade go through this most horrifying time.

The question is, are you ready to face the HORRIFIC 7-YEAR TRIBULATION period. Are you ready to face the Roman dictator and his one world government? Wouldn’t it would be wiser to believe in the Son of God, the Creator of the universe, the one True Loving and Living God of heaven and earth, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST and be eternally saved than to cast our lot with Satan, the Prince of Darkness and thereby be eternally damned..
