END-TIME WARS SERIES – PART 4 (DANIEL 11) - THE WARS SURROUNDING THE RISE OF THE ANTICHRIST

In the previous parts of this End-Time Wars Series, we examined several prophetic conflicts that the Bible reveals will occur as the world approaches the end of this age.

So far, we have studied:

1.  The War of Elam (Jeremiah 49:34-39) — a devastating judgment involving modern Iran.

2.  The Destruction of Damascus (Isaiah 17:1) — the prophecy that the ancient city of Damascus will become a ruinous heap.

3.  The Gog–Magog Invasion (Ezekiel 38–39) — a massive invasion against Israel led by a northern alliance including Russia and Iran.

These conflicts prepare the world for something even more dramatic: the rise of the Antichrist, the final global ruler who will dominate the world during the seven-year Tribulation period.

The Bible reveals that before this world leader gains full control, there will be major wars and geopolitical upheavals, particularly involving powers described as the King of the North and the King of the South.

These wars are described in detail in Daniel chapter 11.

Understanding Daniel’s Prophecy About End-Time Wars

The Foundation of Daniel’s Vision

The book of Daniel contains some of the most detailed prophecies in the entire Bible.

Daniel received a powerful revelation about future world events in:

  • Daniel 10
  • Daniel 11
  • Daniel 12

These chapters form one continuous prophecy about wars, political struggles, and the rise of the final world ruler.

The Emergence of the Final World Leader

The Rise of the “Vile Person”

Daniel gives a striking description of the individual who will eventually dominate global politics.

“And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.”
— Daniel 11:21

This individual is the same figure described elsewhere in Scripture as:

  • The Antichrist
  • The Man of Sin
  • The Son of Perdition

The Apostle Paul describes him clearly:

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.”
— 2 Thessalonians 2:3

This world leader will not initially rise through open warfare, but through political deception, diplomacy, and manipulation.

A Time of Increasing Wars and Political Chaos

Before the Antichrist fully consolidates power, Daniel 11 describes multiple wars and conflicts involving powerful regional alliances.

One of the most important passages says:

“At the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind.”
— Daniel 11:40

This verse clearly identifies the time of the end.

It describes two major forces:

The King of the South

A southern power bloc that pushes against the Antichrist.

The King of the North

A powerful northern alliance that attacks with overwhelming force.

These wars appear to occur during the early stages of the Tribulation period, as the Antichrist establishes dominance.

The Antichrist Expands His Power Through War

Daniel reveals that the Antichrist will not remain a regional leader.

Instead, he will begin expanding his influence militarily across nations.

Daniel writes:

“He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown.”
— Daniel 11:41

The “glorious land” refers to Israel.

This shows that the Antichrist will eventually move militarily into the Middle East and exert control over the region.

This aligns with another prophecy in the book of Daniel:

“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week.”
— Daniel 9:27

This “week” refers to seven years, which many Bible scholars recognize as the Tribulation period.

The Global Power Structure Begins to Collapse

The wars described in Daniel 11 indicate that the world will be unstable and chaotic during this time.

Countries will be fighting for influence and survival.

The Antichrist will take advantage of this chaos.

Daniel writes:

“He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.”
— Daniel 11:42

The prophecy continues:

“But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver.”
— Daniel 11:43

This suggests economic control, not just military power.

The Antichrist will dominate financial systems, resources, and political structures worldwide.

This connects directly with the prophecy in Revelation.

The Antichrist and Global Economic Control

The book of Revelation describes the Antichrist controlling commerce and trade.

“And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark…”
— Revelation 13:16

The result is a global economic system where participation requires allegiance to the Antichrist.

“And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark…”
— Revelation 13:17

This reveals that the Antichrist’s rise will not just involve military conquest, but global economic domination.

Wars Continue to Escalate

Even after gaining power, the Antichrist will continue facing opposition.

Daniel describes renewed conflict toward the end of his reign:

“But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him.”
— Daniel 11:44

These reports trigger further military campaigns.

“Therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.”
— Daniel 11:44

This indicates that the final world ruler will respond to opposition with massive military violence.

The world will be plunged into large-scale wars.

The Antichrist’s Final Headquarters

Daniel gives a remarkable geographic detail about where the Antichrist will position himself.

“And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain.”
— Daniel 11:45

This appears to refer to Jerusalem and the surrounding region.

The Antichrist will establish his authority in the very place where God has placed His name.

However, Daniel ends this section with a powerful statement:

“Yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.”
— Daniel 11:45

His reign will ultimately collapse.

The Lord Jesus Christ Will Destroy the Antichrist

The Bible clearly teaches that the Antichrist will not rule forever.

His empire will end when the Lord Jesus Christ returns to earth.

The Apostle Paul writes:

“Whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming.”
— 2 Thessalonians 2:8

The return of the Lord Jesus Christ will bring an end to the Antichrist’s rule.

This climactic moment leads directly into the next major war of prophecy — the global conflicts described in Revelation.

The World Is Moving Toward These Events

When we examine global trends today, we see many developments that align with these prophetic warnings:

  • Rising geopolitical instability
  • Increasing military alliances
  • Economic systems becoming more centralized
  • Global surveillance and digital financial systems

The stage appears to be gradually setting for the conditions described in Bible prophecy.

While we cannot claim that every current event is a direct fulfillment of prophecy, the overall trajectory of world events seems to be moving toward the scenario the Bible describes.

The Urgent Message of Salvation

The purpose of studying Bible prophecy is not merely intellectual curiosity.

It is a warning to humanity.

The Bible repeatedly tells us that a time of unprecedented tribulation is coming.

The Lord Jesus Christ Himself warned:

“For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.”
— Matthew 24:21

The coming Tribulation period will be the most devastating era in human history.

Yet God has provided a way of escape.

Salvation Through the Lord Jesus Christ

The Bible declares that forgiveness of sins and eternal life are available through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Gospel message is simple and powerful.

The Apostle Paul writes:

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:3

He continues:

“And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:4

The Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross for the sins of the world and rose again.

Anyone who believes in Him can receive forgiveness and eternal life.

The Promise of Escape

Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ have a powerful promise.

The Bible teaches that the church will be caught up to meet the Lord.

“Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air.”
— 1 Thessalonians 4:17

This event is often called the Rapture.

Those who belong to the Lord Jesus Christ will be delivered from the coming wrath.

A Personal Invitation

If you have never trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Bible invites you to respond today.

Scripture says:

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.”
— Acts 16:31

God offers forgiveness freely.

But the Bible also warns that the opportunity will not last forever.

Conclusion

Daniel chapter 11 reveals a powerful truth:
the rise of the Antichrist will be surrounded by wars, political upheaval, and global instability.

These conflicts will ultimately lead to the final battles described in the book of Revelation.

The world is moving steadily toward the fulfillment of these prophecies.

Yet in the midst of these warnings, the message of the Bible remains clear:

God has provided salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.

Those who trust in Him will receive forgiveness, eternal life, and deliverance from the coming wrath.
