Dear Reader, I am continuing with more signs that
clearly signify that we are soon about to enter the most horrific period that
the world has ever witnessed, which the Bible calls as “The Tribulation Period”
that would last for exactly 7 years. Today's short post is about ‘FAMINES’,
which is very soon going to inflict extreme suffering on the entire planet, in
this very horrific decade just ahead of us. 1 verse in the Bible that
explicitly mentions this is Matthew Chapter 24: Verse 7 says, “For nation
shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be
‘FAMINES’, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in diverse places.”
The dictionary definition
of the word ‘FAMINE’ means extreme scarcity of food. Extreme scarcity of food
leads to mass starvation, and consequently disease and death of millions.
According to the Global Hunger Index 2021, the 5 leading nations in the world
facing hunger and malnutrition today are Somalia, Yemen, Central African
Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, etc. These countries have the
worst conditions for survival today, with extreme scarcity of food, there is
starvation, malnutrition & death of thousands on a daily basis. The list of
nations suffering from Famine, food shortage etc. are ever increasing since the
commencement of the Covid Pandemic and subsequent worldwide economic
devastation.
Most nations in the world are in debt today. The
most prosperous nation on earth the U.S.A. has a total debt of $23.3 trillions
as of Feb 2020. At the end of 2020, world debt was pegged at $226 trillion. The
aftermath of the Covid pandemic has accelerated the downward spiral of the
entire world economy. Even when the world thought it was slowly recovering out
of the ongoing Pandemic, the Russian invasion of Ukraine happened, which has
only added fuel to the fire. The numerous sanctions against Russia, would
destroy Russia’s economy & Russia’s counter sanctions & other counter
actions are going to hit the world very hard, especially the western world,
middle east, north Africa & parts of Asia.
The prices of basic necessities have started
increasing in most countries in the world including India. Soaring prices of
Oil, Natural Gas, fertilizers, etc. are going to hit food production very hard,
and as a result food prices are soon going to skyrocket, making food
unaffordable. Not just food, prices of all basic necessities would go over the
roof bringing tremendous suffering to the whole of humanity.
The recent economic
crises of Sri Lanka is an example of how a nation’s economy can collapse within
a single day, and food shortages and high inflation rates can affect the common
man. One Srilankan national speaking to a journalist remarked, She has got a
lot of money to buy food, but there is no food to buy and she has no option to
satiate her hunger by eating money. Can you imagine 1 kg of milk powder for Rs.
1900, 1 kg of rice for Rs. 220, 1 kg of sugar for Rs. 240, 1 kg of wheat for
Rs. 190, 1 litre of coconut oil for Rs. 850, 1 dozen eggs for Rs. 360 &
Additionally 13 hours of power cut/per day.
These prices are
unimaginably high, and this could be just the beginning of the end for Sri
Lanka. The next few years ahead of us, could see skyrocketing prices of basic
essentials, high inflation levels uniformly across the entire globe. India,
China, Russia, Europe, USA, Middle east, etc. i.e. every country in the world
is going to get severely affected. Every individual in the world is going to
get affected. This is the perfect storm that is going to lead to the soon
coming ‘7 YEARS TRIBULATION PERIOD’.
While what we are seeing is scary, this is just
the beginning & what is hereafter, is absolutely Horrific. I will
quote a few more verses from the Prophetic scriptures of the Bible that explain
how severely the world is going to be affected by Famine during the ‘7 YEARS
TRIBULATION PERIOD’ and how it wipes out a very significant proportion of the
world’s population.

here.. This is from: REVELATION Chapter 6: Verse 5-8…. 5. And when he had opened
the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo
a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. 6 And
I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a
penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil
and the wine. 7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the
voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. 8 And I looked, and behold
a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with
him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill
with sword, and ‘WITH HUNGER’, and with death, and with the beasts of
the earth.
This is Prophetic
Language which cannot be so easily understood, but still reading the above
verses itself gives a very scary picture of the ‘7 Years Tribulation Period’.
For better understanding, below given is a brief explanation of these verses:-
a. A black horse; and he
that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand: The balances symbolized
the need to carefully measure and ration food which indicates a time of severe scarcity
of food.
b. A measure of wheat
for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny: These prices are
about twelve times higher than normal. It means that it would cost a day’s wage
to buy the ingredients for a loaf of bread. This describes “a time of famine
when life will be reduced to the barest necessities.”Looking at the ongoing
worldwide economic downslide, it would certainly not take much time to plunge
the entire world into the kind of scarcity and inequity mentioned here.
c. See thou hurt not the
oil and the wine: Yet, the nicer things will be available for those who can
afford them. There will still be the oil and the wine that should not be
harmed. Yet, we all know oil and wine would never be able to substitute for the
very important basic necessities of life.
d. A pale horse. And his
name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him: This explains that there
will be a tremendously high death toll from dictatorship, war, pestilences,
famine and other calamities hitting the world simultaneously. Our modern age
has seen hundreds of millions killed by dictators, war, pestilences and famine.
Yet all that will pale in comparison to the soon coming horrors of the 7 Year
Tribulation period. No wonder the Lord Jesus Christ said of this time For
then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning
of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. (Matthew 24:21)
e. Power was given to
them over a fourth of the earth, to kill: All hell breaks loose on the
earth, and as a result one fourth of mankind alive at this point in time perish
due to Famine, pestilence, war, etc. That means if the world population would
be 8 Billion, 2 billion i.e. 200 crore perish in the first few years of the ‘7
year tribulation period’. Just imagine that’s a very significant proportion of
the world’s population.
How awful for those who
are alive on the earth at this time. THE LORD JESUS CHRIST has
prophesied this 2000 years ago..and hence, this will truly be fulfilled, in
this very horrific decade ahead of us. Soon and very soon, the 7 years of
tribulation is going to hit this unsuspecting world, just in this very
decade ahead of us. The Bible terms this period also as the Period of Divine
Judgement.
Dear Reader, the only way to escape the judgment
to come is to confess our sins and believe in the death, burial and
resurrection of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. THE LORD JESUS CHRIST is coming
to take his followers mysteriously to heaven just before the commencement of
the 7 YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD. Those who are left behind, will have to
go through the horrific 7 year Tribulation period. There is only total
suffering, death & devastation during this horrific period So, it is
important to take the right decision by believing in THE LORD & SAVIOUR
JESUS CHRIST, before it is too late & time runs out. In our next post,
we will see more signs foreshadowing the SOON COMING TRIBULATION PERIOD OF 7
YEARS.
